  • Brace wear compliance is extremely important and can only be achieved by the patient him/herself
  • Follow the instruction given by the specialist and orthotist about the number of hours of brace-wear.
    • 20 hours/day unless informed otherwise
    • Their advices in follow-up visits about brace wear are valuable. When the patient is almost mature, hours may be reduced depending on specialist’s advice based on individual’s condition and whether curve progresses or not.
  • Positive thinking and understanding that the brace helps to control the curve size during growth
  • Regular exercise during the brace period
  • Communicate well with family, doctor and orthotist about your brace experience
